Caitlin Handerhan is a law clerk at Phillips Froetschel and a Juris Doctorate candidate at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Class of 2027. Caitlin joined the firm in the Fall of 2025. In addition to contributing to a wide-range of litigation support , Caitlin manages the firm's social media accounts and runs focus groups for Phillips Froetschel.

Upon completing her first year of studies, Caitlin clerked for the Honorable Mary C. McGinley in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on the Complex Civil Litigation docket. At Duquesne, Caitlin has earned advocate roles on the school's award-winning trial competition teams each semester and is a member of the Women in Law Association.

Prior to law school, Caitlin spent a decade as a political strategist running campaigns across Pennsylvania and served as the Executive Director of the Penn State Behrend Public Policy Fund. During this time, she taught applied politics and political theory at both Penn State Behrend and Mercyhurst University and continues to teach campaign management seminars, including for Chatham University’s Ready to Run candidate training program.  In 2023 she managed the statewide Superior Court race in Pennsylvania, having most recently managed (now-Representative) Chris Deluzio's successful 2022 congressional campaign in PA-17, a top swing district nationally.

An alum of Mercyhurst University (BA, Political Science '13) and Cornell University (MPA '15), Caitlin lives in Pittsburgh, PA.
